Our
summer trip to North Carolina
2008

The house we rented, high up in the mountains of Maggie Valley, promised easy access. Not so much. To get there, we had to negotiate a series of hairpin turns up the mountain. Still, it provided fantastic views.

The boys spent A LOT of time on XBox.

One night, we had a cookout -- with Roger as the cook, of course.

What would a gathering be without a game -- or nine -- of Farkle?

Steve, trying to explain why he keeps getting Farkle.

Ryan slept the first night on the window seat, and we took the opportunity to put a little doll next to him for some photo opportunities!

The next day, a dinosaur made an appearance tucked next to Ryan.

One night, after a tough game of Farkle, Christian fell asleep right in the middle of all the action.

That meant that he, too, fell victim to the others strategically placing the doll in his arms.

But things were taken a bit further when the paci was put in his mouth. Amazingly, Christian never woke up, even though all of us were howling with laughter. ...

... and gloating, too!

One day, we went to Lake Junaluska to have a picnic, hang by the pool, play in the rec room and do some fishing.

Steve is a little camera-shy.

Felicia models are new swimsuit.

Playing a little ping-pong with Uncle Tony.

Napping on the way to The Fun Factory.
